A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Samantha Stout, the lead instructor and founder of Love.Live.Dance. Dance has always been a central part of my life, and my goal as an instructor is to make dance accessible, adaptable, and most importantly, enjoyable for everyone. Whether you’re looking to explore a new hobby or fine-tune your skills for competition, I’m passionate about helping each student grow in confidence, technique, and creativity.

HOW I GOT HERE

While my love for dance started early with Ballet, Tap, and Jazz, it wasn’t until college at Fairmont State University that I discovered ballroom dancing. I quickly fell in love with the elegance, partnership, and versatility that ballroom offered. My journey as an instructor began in 2012, when I started as a student teacher. By 2015, I transitioned to teaching full-time, bringing together my passion for dance and my desire to help others explore the art form.

Background and Education

Throughout my career, I’ve committed myself to lifelong learning. I’m proud to be a Dance Vision Certified Instructor and a certified wheelchair dance instructor through the American Dancewheels Foundation, making dance accessible for people of all abilities. I’ve also earned certification from the Baricchi Institute of Movement and Art, where I studied the psychology of movement and instinctive perception—principles I incorporate into my teaching style. My education has shaped the way I approach instruction, ensuring that I adapt to the needs and strengths of each individual student.

Career Beginnings

In 2012, I began my teaching career through a structured internship program where I trained under seasoned instructors. This experience allowed me to build a solid foundation, not only in my dance skills but also in my teaching methods. By 2015, I transitioned into a full-time professional instructor, and soon after, my Pro/Am students began competing at local, regional, and national events. One of the highlights of my career has been receiving 1st place as "Top Female Teacher" at the Las Vegas Lights competition.

Continued Success

As a Pro Smooth Rising Star Finalist and a Pro Smooth Open Semifinalist, I’ve had the opportunity to compete and work with some of the finest in the industry. My mentors, including Amanda Wolf, Michael Johnson, Ian Gillett, and Anna Shabazyan, have deeply influenced my teaching style and approach to dance. In 2020, I launched the Ballroom Chat Podcast, which has become a platform for sharing the journey of dancers from all walks of life. At Love.Live.Dance, I’m committed to helping my students reach their full potential, whether they’re dancing for fun, getting ready for a competition, or preparing for their wedding.
